This home overlooking the water in Port Elgin suffered a structural failure of their mortar stone retaining wall. Using the drystone method, we restored the three tiered structure and gave it new life and enhanced stability.
Standing at 13 feet tall, this impressive freestanding wall is adorned with vertical coping and boasts a striking 6-foot wide thunder bird centerpiece intricately crafted from slate. A unique creation, this wall serves as a tribute to the Anishinaabe people, symbolizing protection, power, and strength.

This low-profile firepit setting offers an ideal outdoor spot for gathering with friends around the warm glow of the fire. Flagstone was artfully arranged using the drystone technique around the firepit in the center, which was laid precisely with brick & mortar to create a heat-proof spot for a cozy fire.
This freestanding wall was built using field stones sourced from the property, featuring a unique element known as a "lunkie," typically used in the UK for sheep to pass through.

This charming drystone princess staircase overlooks the Saugeen River at the Saugeen Amphitheatre. Flanking the stone steps are drystone retaining walls beautifully finished with rounded coping, serving as elegant handrails.
